Arlington Soccer Association set out to create its first permanent home, establishing a year-round destination for an organization that serves approximately 10,000 players each year. The opportunity came in the form of an existing 9,257 SF building with a long and varied history, having previously served as an auto repair facility, warehouse, retail space, and dry cleaner. Transforming it into a soccer training facility required reimagining the existing footprint to accommodate indoor play while creating welcoming spaces for players, families, coaches, and staff.
The completed Arlington Training Center brings two indoor soccer fields together with a reception and lounge area, offices, conference space, and supporting amenities under one roof. The existing building was adapted around the needs of the new use, from maximizing available ceiling height and minimizing overhead infrastructure around the fields to addressing existing building conditions and preparing the former commercial space for its new purpose. The result is a dedicated, year-round home base where Arlington Soccer can support training, operations, meetings, and its broader soccer community.
