The Early Years
1950's 
1956
Jimmy Pizzano
Bob Pizzano Sr. is traveling from Connecticut to Florida and stops in Washington, DC to visit his sister and his truck breaks down. Bob performs small residential jobs to repair his truck and complete his move to Florida. During this time, Bob meets his wife Carolyn and decides to settle in DC.
1958
Bob founds Pizzano Contractors (originally named Robert T. Pizzano General Contractors, Inc.) and operates the business out of Bob’s home on Filmore St in Arlington.
1960's 
1964
Bob Pizzano Sr.'s brother Jimmy joins the business in 1964 and they work on several prominent homes owned by Congressman Jack Brooks, Lyndon B, Johnson, the Kennedy family. 
1968
Pizzano Contractors performs their 1st significant commercial project for Page Communications in 1968.

Bob establishes a relationship with several key players which facilitates the shift of Pizzano Contractors from residential to commercial construction. 
1971
 Pizzano Contractors establishes headquarters at 1019 Cameron St in Old Town Alexandria, VA.
Year?
Pizzano Contractors is awarded its first major relocation of Covington & Burling Law Firm to four floors of 1201 Pennsylvania Avenue.  Eventually, Covington takes over the entire building plus an adjacent property (1275 Pennsylvania Avenue). Pizzano Contractors constructs a bridge between the two buildings during this time.

Second Generation
1980's 
2nd generation Pizzanos, Lisa Paul and Bob Pizzano Jr., join the business and Pizzano Contractors begins performing significant work for defense contractors.
1990's 
Pizzano Contractors shifts to employing sub-contractors in key trades leading to a significant growth period and allowing Pizzano to take on larger, more complex projects.
2000's
2002
Pizzano Contractors reaches $10M in revenue and reaches 20 employees
2008
Pizzano Contractors celebrates it’s 50th anniversary
2008
3rd Generation (?) Pizzano, Kelsey Gutierrez, joins the family business.

Bob Pizzano Jr becomes President of Pizzano Contractors maintaining the legacy of Bob, Sr. as he steps into Chairman Emeritus role.
2016
Pizzano Contractors reaches $20M in revenue and over 40 employees to continue to build Pizzano Contractors for future growth.
2016
3rd Generation Pizzanos, Will and Christina, join the team.
2017
Pizzano Contractors completes largest project in company history at 1225 4th St NE
2017
Pizzano Contractors is recognized at Washington Business Journal’s Family Business Awards
2019
Pizzano Contractors begins their 1st ground-up construction project creating luxury condominiums in Georgetown, Washington D.C.
